Aeronautical discoveryLet's Visit Airbus - Green tour

SECURITY: no luggage allowed on Airbus sites and inside the buses until further notice

Aviation is a fast and safe mode of transport, as well as one that is highly eco-efficient – with excellent environmental performance when considering the value it provides.

Further environmental improvements for air transport require coordinated actions between all stakeholders, which consist of airlines, air traffic service providers, manufacturers and authorities.

Airbus develops eco-efficient solutions at every stage of the aircraft life-cycle:

  • Optimized performance by design
  • Dissemination of best environment practices within the supply chain
  • Greener manufacturing processes
  • Supporting efficient aircraft operations
  • Recycling and re-use at end-of-life
In addition, the company assumes a leading role in improving the overall air transport system by contributing to the modernization of Air Traffic Management (ATM) and promoting low-emission alternative fuels.

On programme:

Listen to the guide’s commentary throughout a coach tour (you stay on the bus) and discover the eco-efficient solutions developed by Airbus.

You will drive past the Airbus SAS Headquarters, and learn all about:
  • the design offices and the development centres, equipped with solar air conditioning allowing CO² emissions to be cut by 140 tonnes per year,
  • the assembly sites for the A320, A350, A330/340 families, with the new plant dedicated to the A350WXB equipped with solar panels, the flightline,
  • the SITA SOLVING internal recycling centre, which sorts 10.500 tonnes of waste per year, equivalent to the weight of 40 A380’s.
  • the delivery centre, where the aircraft of Airbus’ increasingly eco-efficient range are handed over to the customer.
