Come and get the answers directly on site!

Capture the energy of the tides with the La Rance tidal power plant (35)

Go behind the scenes of the La Rance tidal power plant, located between Dinard and Saint-Malo, at the mouth of the Rance estuary. Champion of renewable energies, hydroelectricity produced thanks to the movements of the highest tides in Europe, allows the La Rance tidal power plant to supply the annual electricity consumption of a town of 225,000 inhabitants, i.e. 12% of the electricity produced in Brittany. This exceptional site, measuring nearly 700 m long and with a power of 20 MW, the tidal power plant is labeled “Site d'excellence des savoir-faire”.

From the inauguration by Charles de Gaulle to the 2000s, the hydraulic development of the Rance will be the only site in the world of electricity production on an industrial scale to use the force of the tides.

Equipped with a bay window on the machine room, you will enjoy a guided tour updated according to the construction sites and will lift the veil on the production trades. Come and discover the human epic of construction, the technological prowess to exploit the force of the tides, discover how the machinery works and understand the challenges of the energy transition. Don't wait any longer to book!
